Situation is this

Sister in law lives in NZ.

She met some bloke about a month ago and now claims he is a "very good friend". He is an unemployed Swiss recruitment agent and wants to come to London to become unemployed

Sister in Law "why dont you stay with my sister and her husband for 2 weeks"

Me "WTF!"

Am I just being a crusty old misanthrope or is it reasonable to not want someone you have never met staying in your house?

Id say WTF too mate. Tell your sister and her good friend where to go.

I personally wouldnt let anyone who i dont know step over the front door step. He could be anybody.

If he wants to come to the UK let him do it off his own back. If he is a recruitment agent then he should know how to find a job amd stand on his own two feet!

Stick him in the garden shed. Tell him if the gardens all tidy and looking good in a week then youll give him a pillow and a sleeping bag!

In the shed??? The most sacred ground for a homebrewer. Now thats risky!

Glad to know its not just me.

I asked people at work and they were also "WTF" but I do work for an organisation that makes a profession out of seeing the worst in people. Nice to have feedback from normal people.

think your sister needs a bat round the ear hole......

I host total strangers from time to time via couchsurfing.com . It's been fun.

You have chosen to do that but it sound as though the decision has been made for jonewer.

If it was me I'd tell him to verpiss di.

Mate , i'm surprised it's even got on here !! i would of said no f++king way , end of .....he could be ok , he could be a weirdo who'e looking at your mrs , he could be a nightmare to live with , they way i see it the bad outweighs the good by a factor of 10 .

Nope its not you id say yeah he can stay in the spare room with a 1k deposit and £250 a week paid weekly,
oh no job no money no room, do not accecpt DSS.

You are not a charity besides we got enough unemployed living here why make it harder for them with another
joining them on the rock and roll straight off the plane.

Sister Inlaw sounds like a sister Outlaw.
