It's my hobby and pleasure so I do not bother with the true cost as for the time I mash and boil it is no big issue
Ps I do No Chill to save on water though, it also suits my method too
It's a hobby, and unless it costs the moon, an extra couple of quid on something that gives me many hours of pleasure doesn't even figure into it. I don't even think about driving 10 miles to my local hockey team twice a week, which probably costs a few quid each way.

High electricity prices are annoying, but they won't get in the way of a hobby - much like fuel prices won't stop me getting out. Otherwise I'd just turn into a sad lonely hermit (or a lovely hermit as autocorrect may have it 😂)

That's why I don't count capital outlay in my beer cost and only have a vague eye on materials. Electric costs is an academic exercise.
It's a lot cheaper than having a dog and her medicines and her monthly injection for arthritis.
Just edited as it might have appeared the treatment was for me and we had a dog.
