hi .. the co2 cap is for adding addition gas (co2) to be added when all the naturel carbonation has gone from the barrel .. ie to help with serving not carbonating the beer

i think they are handy to have :thumb:

p.s u better put a ' hi ' post in the right section before the forum ninja's get you

It's ok, obviously a genuine question and not an attempt to sell mini kegs, although I will move it to equipment discussions.

Welcome to the forum lambono

Hey,
Thanks for the quick reply and welcome.
I had thought that given the small capacity of the barrel the extra CO2 might not be needed.
Seems it is. Cheers. That's another £15 to add to my shopping list lol!

P.S Sorry of the lack of introduction :)

Well, the beer is now in the barrel. 2 weeks till drinking time :)
Just one more question, do these barrels have a vent... or if you over prime is it bomb time?

Thanks!

Depends how fast you drink, if you can drink 2 gallons in a week then I wouldn't worry about using CO2.
