quick question about our IPA just opened a bottle looks ok tastes nice but no head or pressure in the bottle. i dissolved 2 oz soft brown sugar in the fv in the beer (20l) left for 48 hours then bottled. I wonder if it was enough sugar??? The bottles are in the shed to condition could i bring them in and add a couple of teaspoons of sugar to the 2 litre bottles then put them upstairs in spare room. Will it improve the beer or not :D

I think you have got the order of priming wrong. If you added the sugar to the fermenter and waited 48hrs before bottling then the chances are that it would have fermented out before you bottled and that will explain the flat beer. For future you should either add the sugar directly to the bottles or batch prime.

As for adding sugar at this stage? My gut instinct is that it is a bit risky. However if you feel brave then you could try it with one, leave it somewhere warm for a week or two and then see if it has gassed up.

I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as you get the beer back upto fermentation temp. It might take a while though!
