Hi - I'm Bill in Kansas City, USA. I'm retired from my work as a research pharmacist where I did dosage from development...lots of chemistry, formulation development and manufacturing methods...sort of like making beer from scratch. I've brewed beer for about 25 years, mostly ales. My great quest was to make a beer like Fullers ESB which I used to be able to enjoy at a restaurant in Lawrence, Kansas...they kept the beer at a proper temperature. I never was able to capture the caramel-like flavor even though I made over 15 five gallon batches in my effort. After quite a few years brewing in different directions I'm going to try again to brew a good version of a British ESB. Next spring I'm going to visit England to see some flower shows and gardens [my wife's hobby] and to drink ale [my hobby]. So that's a short introduction. Bill

Welcome to the forum Bill.

Even though I am a northerner Fullers ESB is one of my favourite beers and I have cloned a northern version of it (plenty of wheat malt  ) which is my house bitter. :thumb:

We have another member stateside Phettebs who is a great english ale fan. So much so he had a member send out a Beer engine to him. :thumb: :thumb:

The fullers ESB recipe is available in Graham Wheelers Brew Your Own British Real Ale, a great book to have. :thumb:
