Hey, i'm Andy and i'm going to university next year so i thought it was best to learn how to make some devilish homebrew's  . my father used to do it so i thought i could learn some tricks off him. My first official Homebrewing is happening at the moment which is a 40-pint cider kit from Brewbuddy (Youngs) although i've made the variation of 32 pints at 7% :D :D :drink: . Anybody got any tips on how i could maybe flavour some bottles? like essences of strawberry etc? :) cheers! :drunk:

High there Andy and welcome to the forum.

I would have thought you could add Strawberry Ribena to a few bottles before capping them. Just make sure that you boil and simmer it for ten minutes to drive off the preservatives, and then cool it before adding.

Where are you in sunny Cornwall, I'm in Camborne.

Cheers Neil

hi andy .. welcome aboard... :thumb:

were just brewin 5 gallons of ginger beer {around 5%], for my lad to take back to uni in sheffield....

you should knock up some turbo cider,
cheap as chips if you get the apple juice cheap enough,
it will be as good as any kit,
we have it and add a splash of pineapple juice from lidls when we drink it.... :drunk:

If you ask your question in the Brewdays for Wine, Cider and more! section you will get the cider experts to give you some ideas for flavourings (they might not be looking at this section).
Don't worry Andy, I've read it!
Would recommend you don't add flavourings or sugar until you feel you are on top of everything.
As I said in your other post, try TC first.

Cheers everyone!

Neil, i am in a rainy cornwall at the moment, down Madron way (penzance incase you didn't know ;) )

i have thought about adding flavourings afterwards because i know i prefer different types of flavours but its easier to just open one bottle instead of opening 2, one for cider one for juice.

Thankyou everyone for such a warm welcome!
