Hi everyone, just stumbled across this forum and I am pleased to have found it. I have been making wine for years and I still enjoy it.
I have my own allotment so use the produce from that which keeps the price down. Last year I made Elderflower champagne for the first time which worked really well, bottled in 2 litre coke bottles which worked a treat.
I also made wine from Pink elderflowers which I think was one of my best ever :) This year so far I have made: Rhubarb, my own version of Tooti Fruiti (raspberries, strawberries and gooseberries left over in the freezer from last year), Nettle and Parsnips.
I live in the South Northamptonshire area and would love to join a local wine making circle or link in with others and start our own
Cheers,
Moonflower

Hi moonflower, where in south Northants are you? I'm in Bedford, which might not be all that far away. My mum grew up in Rushden and my aunt in Odell, where my grandparents' ashes are buried, and I also have dozens of cousins around here, so you could say I'm local even though that side of the family originates from near Aberdeen!

I also have an allotment. I've got a few rows of parsnips in for wine-making, plus seven (so far) rows of beetroot, of which the big ones will become borscht and the smaller ones will be pickled. I'm even making my own vinegar for pickling, although I can't be sure it'll be ready in time for this year's batch.
