I'm sat in a local brew pub waiting for my train and have noticed that they've done a new wheat beer. It's in front of me now and it's really not what I expected; slightly cloudy (not hefe) quite fruity but also very vinegary. Not a huge amount of wheat or yeast flavours.
It reminds me of a beer I had once about 10 years ago when I went to belgium and basically stuck a pin in a 15 page beer menu. Very vinegary on purpose with a few other flavours.
Now I like vinegar, i just didn't think other people did. I thought it was just the fruit fly & crazy belgians who intentionally vinegared beer. Is it a style? Does anyone introduce a hint of vinegar to add depth? I'm intreagued.
