Afternoon all

Can you good people tell me what you use to insulate FVs, and where you get it from?

I have a fridge which i can use to get a reasonably steady fermenting temp, but for if i am doing more than one batch at a time, or if i am doing wine etc at teh same tiem as my beer is in the fridge, i would like to insualte the fv to better control the fermentign temperature.

Cheers

I have a heat belt that is controlled with a PID. The fermenter is wrapped in a big sleeping bag.

I have tried using heat belts, DJ pads and insulation but in the end I had to buy another fridge as cooling is the problem for me.

True, it is chuffing cold most of the time when its not raining.. but when I used to use belts and pads i found my beer used to easily over heat!

I have a small radiator that is in an otherwise unheated room, i was plannign on standign the fvs near that, while it is on a low setting.

I thought that if the fvs were insulated then there would be less of a temperature gradient accross the fv.
