Hi all, just completed the fermentation stage of my first AG brew. Attached is a pic of the outcome. Normally I get a crusty krausen with no floating bits after doing kit brews, is what I have this time normal or is it infected? I scooped out the bad parts from the surface and kegged anyway. It otherwise smells and tastes ok.

Cheers

Looks fine to me. Smell and taste are your best indicators, so all is well I reckon.

I wouldn't open the lid (unless necessary e.g. dry hop) or scoop stuff out in future though, that in itself can risk infection.

Looks fine to me too. I'm guessing it wasn't in the FV for long? About a week?

Perfect, thanks for the timely replies. Was just curious as this was the first time with a different brew style. This was at the end of the fermentation period as I was about to keg it, that's when I was scooping bits.
