Real nostalgia!

I may be wrong, but I reckon that the video was made before 1983 (when they introduced the £1 coin) ...

... and before a pint of beer cost much more than a shilling!

Oh Happy Days! I could go out of an evening with a fiver, treat a lass to a few Babychams, have a few pints myself, buy the two of us fish and chips and still have folding money and a few coins to jingle on my way home!

The Y suffix was 1982 so i reckon that's a good guess.

Chap with the bald head...right budgie supper..
Like those yuppies would have been in an ale house....mixing with all the sweaty looking sorts..
Amos Brearly on the tap...
The one who hands out the badge...looks a great job..rocking up at a load of pubs getting leathered...

Early eighties I drank mostly bitter or mild, whatever was cheapest, I aimed at three pints for a pound. Burton ale would have been out of my price range. Did upgrade to Light n Bitter if I had a few bob extra...

In the early 80's I was brewing beer using un-hopped Malt Extract, Dried Raisins and Dried Bread Yeast. I had protested to my flatmate that it would taste terrible as we couldn't get any hops for "bitterness" so he suggested that we boil up some dried lemons and add the "lemon tea" into the waste bin that we used as a fermenter.

That worked - in a fashion! It was definitely drinkable stuff, especially if you hadn't tasted anything alcoholic for a month!

We often wondered what the local Supermarket Owner in Ryadh thought we were making because we probably bought enough Malt Extract, Dried Raisins and Dried Bread Yeast to make well over 200 Malt Loaves a month!
