First go last night using a bottling bucket, batch priming and a bottling wand on the bucket. If you're looking for your next equipment upgrade after your getting started kit you could do a lot worse than one of these!

I do batch prime anyway (only on No3 at the moment) but good call - I've ordered a bottling wand as it's a bit of a hassle without.

I fit my bottling wand to a syphon tube and put all the bottles on the floor under the bucket, its then very fast to just switch between bottles as they are filled.

Just make sure you put the dogs out first

+1. I do keep misplacing my siphon clips though, which makes things a little trickier ;)

Not if you have a child at hand

"stand here and hold this and you can have half a shandy"

Works every time, dregs of the bucket + lemonade

Next big help is a bottling tree and no rinse sanitiser, then a bench capper and bottling is no longer a pain.

Hahaha, currently somewhat lacking in the child department, I'm afraid! I do have a nephew I could ask, but as he's not yet turned one,

a) I doubt he'd hold it too steady
b) bottling the next batch would be even trickier with the two broken arms his mum would leave me with for giving him beer

I had exactly the same experience this weekend - it was brilliant. I think I could have done with a clip for the tube (I got a reasonable amount of beer on the floor from the tube falling off the tap twice  ), but overall a nice and easy time bottling.
