bottle tree isnt essential, just pretend the bottle is ur tadger, shake out as much liquid as you can and ur good to go!

bottling could take a lot longer if I pretended each bottle was my tadger!

As already said, a tree and rinser saves hours of work  I got my tree and rinser a few weeks ago, it really is a god send. And also a bottling stick saves an awful lot of hassle, they're only about £2 or £3.

Thanks for the link I've just ordered a couple of bottles!!!

I know there are a couple of different types of videne solution. Is this the one everyone uses?

Thanks :thumb:[/quote:3azt85i9]

And they just arrived

These guys live up to their name of Express!!!

Very very impressed!

I've just bought a bottling rod but cant fit it to my FV, do I have to drill it or are there any FV's that come ready to accept one of these?

I thought you just attached it to the end of the syphon tube but it doesnt fit.

I've got 2 Youngs FV's, just big buckets really with no airlock or tap

Mine fits on to the syphon tube, tube goes over the stick. It's the same size as the racking cane ( I think thats what you call it  ) One stick on one end of the tube and one on the other.

I don't have a tap on my FV either.

I bought mine with a tap included that fitted the tube. the tube alone doesnt fit on my other fv taps.

Thought i,d try adapting a wallpapering steamer (the ones with a square steaming pad connected to the steamer by a rubber hose) by removing the pad(jubilee clip ) and sticking a syphon stick in it .
Might be an easy way of sterilizing bottles without chemical residue.

cheers ,Spud.
