Humpty Dumpty

Yes you all know the nursery rhyme, but we are having a major discussion im the 17th century reinact group that I'm in about Humpty Dumpty.
Was he a cannon at a seige? Is he an egg? Or is he a drink?

Any information on tge making of a Humpty Dumpty would be helpful.

In my mind, this is something like brandy, beer (bitter, fresh hopped?, low abv) and some sugar all boiled together?
Actually, maybe a bit like 'flip'?, but with brandy?
