hi as above i have a 5gal pressure keg that takes the little droplett gas things lol how many should i use and how often do i add them ie 1 every few hours or straight after each other

cheers andy

It should have an adapter like this one
You just insert the bulb into the tool and screw on fully to use it. You will only need to add the gas when the pressure in the keg is dropping. Are you planning on priming with sugar? If so then you won't need to add any gas until the pressure drops. I tend to get through 1 or 2 bulbs per keg depending how quick i drink it

Prime the keg with the right amount of sugar, check your kit instructions for the right amount.

Once primed make sure the keg goes somewhere warm, next radiator for example, for 4 days or so in order for secondary fermentation to take place properley. It is this second lot of fermentation, while in a sealed pressure vessel, that carbonates your beer to give it the head.

If you don't keep the keg warm for a day or so you'll get through a lot more bulbs, I didn't allow my first brew to properly complete secondary fermentation and got through 6 bulbs to get the beer out.

As said above, you don't add CO2 until the beer stops coming out the tap due to low pressure in the barrel.

yes it duz say about adding half tabale spoon to each pint brewed or summit when putting into pressure keg so only need to add gas once it loses head is this right ?

It'll be a half tea spoon rather than table spoon bud.

I think the general consensus is 80g per 40 pints, and then top up with the little bottles as the flow stops. drops.

I'll second the half a tea spoon full suggestion, a half tablespoon full might just cause a few problems :D

You will know when the keg needs more gas adding, the speed the brew comes out the tap will drop right off, only then should you add any gas.
