Upcoming brew swap - the options

  • Restrict it to one style, you have full choice of ingredients

  • Restrict the ingredients not the style / strength

  • Just go hog wild and permit anything (except chillies) in the brews

 ..I get ya ;)

I took it from the Wyeast web site.
I only looked at the figures ignoring most of the blurb...as their seemed too much for me not to lose interest

I have a window of opportunity to brew again this Sunday

Have we decided yet (no)  Can we ?

(i'm staying out of it, point me at a recipe or a list of ingredients and I'll brew - I just don't wanna call the final rules :drunk: )

I'm on for Saturday morning (picked up my yeast this evening). If you don't tell me before then I'll just lie and say I did it to the rules

  I think that Vossy got voted in as descision maker

Ok, I think that we should all stick to the rules that Vossy is about to post below  ;)

We can change it for next quarter, but for this one how about we try what it detailed in the next post......

*Vossy!*

Since when did I become a monopoly in a poll

I'd like the brew to be a Special/premium Bitter as it's 'Middle o' Road' :D

Vital Statistics:
OG: 1.040 - 1.048
IBUs: 25 - 40
FG: 1.008 - 1.012
SRM: 5 - 16
ABV: 3.8 - 4.6%

Grain:- Pale malt, crystal, and for those who like head, an adjunct
Hops:- EKG, Styrian, Challenger or Target as you wish. (and Fuggles, as Dunfie can't live without em)
Yeast to be chosen by the individual
Mash and fermenting temp variable

What do you think?

Not sure about whether to allow variable SRM value :hmm: ...not that we could tell

Can i use hops other than those mentioned? I can't get any of them-i can but in pellet form and i hate using pellets.
Yes, i know there's always one...

I wann use Bobeks instead of Styrians (please Vossy can I, can I?)

so what's the score with shipping to people over the pond? are we still sending all our brews to one "hub" person?

how's that going to work shipping costs wise? will we just pay a share to the hub person via paypal or something?

i can see this will work out quite costly hehe but all in the name of brewing

I don't mind funding the costs of shipping to me. :D

It'll be well worth it for me-Hobgoblin costs 8.99 a bottle so your brews will cost a bit less to ship and be miles better.

I can get a crate-12 bottles shipped over without too much trouble or expense.

I can't wait to try some of your brews. I might even be back in UK next year to meet up with a few of you. :D Then i hope to try ALL of your brews.
