I'm trying-out my shiny 100L set-up for the first time at the weekend and running a 60L brew through it. I'm going to be using Nottingham Ale yeast and I have a stir-plate and 2L flask so my question is, how many 11g packets of yeast would you recommend in a starter for a 60L brew? Thanks

Personally 2 packets and no starter, it's ready to go after being rehydrated. If you put it in a starter on a stir plate it will go nuts!

Yes, a couple of packets rehydrated will do. No point in making a starter for packet yeast - if anything you could run the risk of reducing your population of viable cells.
