OK first AG brews now only a couple of weeks away from stashing in the cornies
question I cant seem to find any answers on are

how much co2 to put in my ales one is old peculiar the other Hob Goblin clones .

all the answers I can find say gas to your personal preferences but as these are my first brews any chance of a ball park figure to start from

I had this issue when i started using them. I was told set it at 30 psi for a week and keep cornie cold then purge it off and re set psi to serving which only small amount. Well it has been cold in shed so did this and it took few weeks for my ale to calm down (purging every few days) as it was over carbonated and just getting froth. It probably didnt help as may of been too cold over winter in shed and they say the colder it is the more the co2 gets into beer. I now have a kegerator and started doing ales at 15 psi and lager at 20 psi for week at 5c and im happy with that. I can purge it and drink it straight away if i like. But as people say u need to play with it until ur happy. Here is a carbonation chart for you. Hope this helps

Ideally you want to chill your kegs down to between 8-12c then gas to about 5 psi and leave for a week! Should turn out great. This I what I do and have perfect beer every time!

How you don't mind if I add to this topic but I am taking cornies to ST2013 filled with a dark mild and a pale our something like that, depends on which of the beers turn out best.
These are going to be served though beer engines.
As I don't want to carbonate but just keep the beers fresh, wondered if anyone had done this before and could offer any advice.

You could use a cask breather, they're designed to replace the volume of beer drawn from the keg/corny with an equal volume of C02, thus they don't add to the natural carbonation of the keg...still not good enough for Camra though

Just had a look on fleabay but nothing coming up under cask breather. Can you recommend a supplier.
