I bottled my AG Mild Ale 3 weeks ago. And is now sat in the fridge ready to drink...
I used glass bottles and capped them and I primed with 1½ teaspoons of sugar (per bottle).
My only question is anyone got any idea how long It will last in the fridge before exploding?

If anybody has got any experience in the bottle bomb field could they tell me aprx how long I have left before I have to drink them?

Ta! Liam

How long are we talking before it will turn into one?
Or will it remain inactive in the fridge?
Thanks.

I'm a little confused here.

1/2tsp sugar is fine in the bottle - leave it in the warm for 2-3 weeks then transfer to fridge. ready to drink a few days later. by no means should they be exploding or even over carbonated.

If you used 1.5tsp's, I don't think they will explode, but they might gush out when you open them...

when I read one and a half teaspoons I put a cauldron on me head and dived behind the sofa.....

That's the type of carbonation where you ask the wife to pour you a drink......

If you have added 0.5 tsp per bottle left in a warm place for a week the residual yeast in the brew should ferment that sugar, produce the fizz and when all that sugar is gone... stop.

they wont keep producing more fizz if there is no suger to feed on.

you should be fine
