Hi all,

I have put my coopers pale ale in a pressure barrel for a week now for the second fermenting stage.

I read somewhere that after a week put it in a garage or similar but can't remember how long for before I can drink it. Also the garage might not be as cold as a fridge so do tap it into a bottle before drinking?

It's my first go at ales so I have no idea.

Cheers

Chris

It's normally 2 weeks in the warm and then as long as you can bring yourself to leave it in the cold. Personally, I sample mine every week and once I'm happy with it I'll start drinking it...averages about 4 weeks but some longer, some shorter. Garage temp should be fine for an ale, recommended temp is something like 12 degrees (although I like mine a bit colder).
