Hah ha, some cracking comments on here.

As a brewing noob, I am excitedly passing on my new found brewing knowledge to my wife, who looks at me like I'm some sort of sado  as a watch for activity, and count bubbles in my 1st ever batch.

Does the novelty of the wonders of brewing ever wear off? lol

hell no im a few years into doing it and i still watch for activity and bubbles. for me im getting more into it as time goes by. even more so now the nerves of the first brew are gone

my misses thinks this hobby is like the other few hobbies pointless and costly im not going to win but after few glasses. i switch off. :drunk:

The Mrs gets fed up of...

The smell of hops/the boil.
The slightest splash on the floor.
Leaf hops getting everywhere.
The fact it keeps me up to all hours.
The money I rarely spend.
The fact I can go on about it for hours.
That I get excited about yeast.
That I talk to my yeast (usually thanking it for an ace job!)
That I leave fermenters in the shed in a massive bucket of water.
That I leave barrels carbonating in the wardrobe.
That I offer it to all guests (and her but she "doesn't do ale nowadays")

But she still lets me do it :D
