I bottled a Cooper's kit 3 weeks ago, ideally I should be leaving it a couple of months But I've just been dipping in and opening bottles. Half of the brew has gone already!

How do you guys restrain yourselves? Is it because you've built up such a surplus, you can afford to let your newly bottled beer mature before you start drinking it? Or do you have some strong willpower? :D

I like a young beer-if its bright & carbed then what's the issue?

A good rolling stock helps for sure

IMHO AG brews get into condition more quickly than kits so not much restraint needed.

If a relative has a spare space in their shed, that way its out of your grasp :D

I barrel all my brews and start taking samples after two days , I'm amazed at the way the taste changes , I've had brews which seemed at their best after 7 days and others which just seemed to get better and better.

After each brew, if bottled I remove 6 bottles and put them away somewhere out of the way, they soon mount up.
The rest are drunk as and when required. Brew often and its surprising how many you will have saved away.

Ah, so thats your excuse for brewing every other day

i enjoy brewing as much as i do drinking it. i tend to brew little and often. a gallon or cider here and a kit there it soon adds up

Simple answer: I don't.

Having said that, a large stock of beer that is mostly stored in a friend's shed makes it easier to condition some of the beer, but generally if it tastes good now then why wait to drink it later?

i like to brew often and get a stash going ...

I've only just got back to kit brewing and struggle to make the beer last from one brew to the next. Might need to up my cycles!

It's not easy is it :( The only hope is to get many gallons of it on the go and then you've got a chance some of it might get into the 2nd week

I've had 7 trail jars in the last two day!

Mick May, can I ask where you get your labels from? They look good and I've been looking into getting some for a few light hearted Christmas presents for those that doubt the way of the home brewer.

Blimey Mick - how many litres of beer do you have ready to drink there? I though we had a lot, but our 160 litres (ish) are split between three of us - I'm pretty sure you've got that on your own!!!

*Edited 'coz I can't count!*
