Just purchased 5 second hand Demi-johns for £8 which I thought to be a bargain, However upon collection they were MINGING!
They had been left outside in the elements for I presume years. 4 with rubber bungs (which are not so bad) but 1 without a bung that's had organisms living within. Some are stained & others have a bit of a film in the inside.
I have done my best ie left them in soak over night but it's not looking so good.

Are there some kind of brushes I can buy, or some magic tablets that I could drop in :wha: ?

I would get stuck in with a bottle brush but then try using the Oxy Action type cleaning products. If you look at the How to clean and sanitise a Cornelius keg "How To" you will see that Tubby uses this stuff to remove the gunk from his cornies.

I use the Asda Oxy Powder. A spoonful and fill up with hot water and let soak for half an hour.
