is it wrong to have a preconception of a beer in your mind before you take your first drink or is it quite "beery?"

this is really interesting you can brew out of things i would just never think off.
thats horlicks and weetabix i've read about in one day :)
 
I agree that's mad scientist stuff, I wonder if you added some steeped dark malt. Sounds like the soured milk taste might be good in a stout type beer? Well done, thanks for posting. T
 
The cloudiness you can see is chill haze. After five minutes in the glass it was crystal clear.

Yeah, it's worth a try. My concern was that it would be a complete disaster but it's definitely got potential. Some dark malt might be an idea next time.

Well done sir...a drinkable beer from horlicks. Will you make it through the whole 5gallons? So do you think if you altered the recipe and steeped some chocolate malt or crystal malt, and added more hops it could be even better?
 
I must add horlicks to the shopping list :)

I've got 40 grammes off Calypso going spare that should give it enough bitterness :)
