just getting into Biab, now having looked through the GW book, what i noticed is in some of the recipes from particular brewers if the quantites change slightly you end up with a different beer! look at say hook norton hooky and hook norton old hooky same ingrediants but different quantities.ok my first brew is the hopback summer lightning, this turned out nice still have half a keg left,so brew number 2 i followed the summer lightning recipe but repaced all of the goldings with amarillo ,so two diffferent beers right? last night i did a taste test side by side of my two beers and found they are allmost identical,i use the same amounts of amarillo as goldings so why is there no significant difference betwean the two beers using different hops?
