Following much success with kit brewing, tomorrow will be my first attempt at "All Grain".

My plan is to mix Goldings, Northern Brewer, and Fuggles Hops in a 15g/5g/15g ratio do these blend well?

I will be running a grist consisting of 4kg Maris Otter Pale Malt, 220g Flaked Barley, 400g of Crystal Malt, and 100g of Amber Malt.

Calculated EBC of 25 & EBU of 26

Thanks for that.

We'll see how it turns out....After spending all morning trying to work out the best way to insulate my 20 litre pan for the mash, I found a coolbox in my shed that we had only used once - problem solved!

My mash started at 1349hrs @64°C. I lost about 6°C on addition of the Grist!
I am keeping comprehensive notes, as is advised, so that information will be useful for next time.

wishing you well, don't worry about your failings and or mistakes. just try and learn from them.

Thanks, so far so good. The mash went really well in the cool box, I only dropped .5°C from the 64°C starting temperature.
The wort looked really good, and tasted nice and sweet so that's a good sign.
