Hi guys
So I've brewed my first two batches. Both coopers. The lager that came with the beginners kit (5/10 flat as all hell) and the English bitter (7/10 tastes like watery cordial)

I'm now planning my next batches (probably non-coopers tinned stuff just for variety) and am thinking about adding vacuum packed hops in to my new batch. Probably going to make an English style bitter. Any recommendations for which hops to use and process for adding them to the mix, only using a coopers FV

Thanks

Hi , you could also use dried malt extract instead of dexter (sugar ,don't bother with beer enhancer either as it's manly sugar too ). if using dme you could boil (largest pot you got on hob) for an hour on its own adding (poss total 60g ) 30 g of hops at start 15 g at 30 mins boil time 15g at 50 mins boil.then remove from heat and remove hops (there done with) then when wort cooled put into fermentation bin, now do kit as normal, then when in fermenter none till you move brew into 2nd fermenter ( when gravity test done etc) then just chuck about 10g into it for about another week , should make a big difference than just using kit and sugar(if that was what you was doing ) p.s do a web search on your fav bitter for detail on hops used , sometimes it comes down to personal taste. ( im sure someone will put me right where i've gone wrong here
