hop tea, french press

Dry hopping and my auto-siphon armed with makeshift hop filters (aka gauze and pantyhose) don't seem to mix... I was thinking of trying hop tea instead. Those of you who have done this before - is it OK to use the french press you use for actual coffee making as well? If so, what do you use for cleaning/santitizing it? I'm worried about potential off-tastes - I like my coffee and I like my pale ales but don't want to mix the two at this point of my life.

I dry hop in a mesh bag with a clip it to seal the top.
A couple of tablespoons weigh it down.

This might be an option as well. I have done a grand total of two dry-hoppings and both have been messy affairs.

just don't forget to take the spoons out before you tip the contents into the bin.

hahaha i wash my yeast down the loo but wouldnt want to put my hand down it when ive lost a spoon down it :

To my mind this is not an issue as all involved is bloody hot, just rinse with b hot water.
