hop storage

I've just taken delivery of my first pack of vacum packed hops.

My question is how do i store them until i use them at the end of the week and once the pack is open how do i go about keeping them fresh(would one of those airseal sandwich bags be ok)?

Totally different subject but to save me starting a new thread does anyone know where to get crates for storing and conditioning my bottles of beer?My local is ok with me taking empty bottles but won't part with any crates!

I keep mine in the freezer. I also have my own hops so I own a vacuum sealer. I use that to seal any opened hops I won't be using for awhile.

Hops are OK in vac pack bag until you open them, once opened and you've used some the rest can be put in the freezer :thumb:

Crates for storage, if you look in the for sale etc theres a member there that sells em :!:

Vacuum pack is best, freezer very important!

if its just a wee 100g pack tinfoil works v nicely in the freezer- sadly i have had to buy a shiny new vacuum sealer as my 11kg of hops will be arriving at some point- god i hope they all fit in the freezer- not v confident atm...
