Anyone used the above? My Leeds area project is finished now so I'm not there for a bit so won't have a chance to go to Morley home brew, but have 2 projects coming up in the North East and they look to have a good range at reasonable prices at hop and grape. Any recommendations?

Have not used them online as i live close by, terrific shop loads of grains and yeasts both liquid and dry. Staff very helpful with great knowledge. Would recommend then to all.

their facebook page is stating "Regrettably, Hop and Grape will be closed until further notice. We intend to post updates on this page when more information is available."

Website is down too.

I've just seen on another forum that they have closed! Sounds like a shame because they were obviously well though of. A check of their Facebook page confirms this.

Got the bloomin financial go ahead this week for both my NE projects as well, so would have been in that neck of the woods to pick stuff up, which is a shame.

Think I'll have to bite the bullet and give the Malt Miller a try, although I really like to go into a shop to buy stuff.

That's a shame - I used them a lot when I first tried homebrewing and went back to them when I restarted recently.

It is indeed closed, which is a big shame for me, as I have used them for years (clearly not buying enough though!). For my last brew, I tried the next nearest shop to me in the Northeast that sells grain. It is called Homebrew life, http://www.homebrewlife.co.uk/ in Felling near Gateshead. His website doesn't have grain on it, but he did have what I wanted, and it was all weighed out for me. Reasonable price I thought, almost £14 for 7kg MO, 1/2 kg crystal, 1/4kg chocolate malt and a sachet of yeast. Bloke that I dealt with was friendly too. Still, the distance I had to go makes me consider paying shipping in future. Hop and Grape in Darlington was on my wife's way home, so wasn't such a big deal.

They are selling off kit at good prices on their facebook page

Bulldog Brewer £140
S30 Stainless Steel Spiral Wort Chiller £20

only looks like odds and sods though
