Having done a few kits(st peters ruby red/jaipur ipa/muntons old english ale etc)once barrelled, i have had a few probs with gassing,e.g threads stripped on red gas bulb holder, some bulbs empty etc,so i rigged my own co2 bottle up,the only thing i havent done yet is fit a pressure release valve, any suggestions, inline or drill and bolt through top of barrel.
cheers biff.

I'm no expert, but it looks potentially the making of a bomb to me those plastic kegs swell arlarmingly when I've pressured them up slowly with the hambleton bard type cylinders, I hate to think the effect of being connected to a c02 cylinder , I know you are fitting a preassure relief valve, and going through a regulator but for about £50 you could get a cornelius keg desiged for the job. Apologies if I'm talking out of turn, and as I said I'm no expert.

Thanks for the replys, the c02 is not connected permanently,i just give it a quick blast at 3psi when the flow slows down, same principle as gasing with bulbs, but alot easier and more cost effective.

How does the line attach to the Keg? Planning to do similar with my King Kegs that have S30 valves.

Hi,i had to replace the fitting/valve in the lid,so a brass tailpipe could be connected to add the plastic pipe.I tried to get a fitting to fit the original valve but found out it was an obscure thread which nobody could match.
cheers.
