Yup just watched it and was appaled at the ( its quote time ) " Quality ingredients " now where in the love of brewing does gloop ( extract ) make quality ingredients especially when it comes out of a nuteral blue 50 gallon container, and as marital says :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick:
Oh its $140 for an average brew then ontop you need to supply your own bottles / kegs then again they do have some for sale :!:

Side note i skiped the extract and went AG straight from kits much better beer....

I'm sorry but you can make damn good quality beers with extract . .. gloop or no gloop . . . the extract just needs to be as fresh as possible

All grain gives you flexibility though

I agree with Aleman. Extract brewing isn't something to turn your nose up at. it can still make better beer than a kit!

I will agree with the fact you can make some damn good beer with extract but as aleman said you need fresh gloop... I am wondering how fresh their gloop is !

I wish a micro would do the same in this country to give a bit of competition in the U.K kit market.

well IMHO it is a great idea, an AG version would take a lot longer to process and so probably would not be so attractive to the general public.

Come and sit around for 5 hours rather than one hmm... at home yes 'cos I can mow the lawn or tinker but there not really

Someone ( ) has already investigated the market, and has already thought about Fresh Wort Kits. Plenty of interest from the wholesalers, and a couple of retailers . . . Just a distinct lack of capital at the right time . . . Bloody housing market :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

you've gotta ask yourself .... whats killing off real brewing? is it marketeering or is it knowledge? By doing something like this you are giving folks more knowledge than they had before and they are not getting overwhelmed with details, whims, fashion, trends and opinions of so-called experts. When they see how simple brewing really can be then folks will be better informed. Quite likely the majority will see it as some cheapish fun to make some drinkable beer and may stop when they can afford to buy what they are happy enough to drink. Some will continue doing this content to have found a level of understanding and a product they like. And a minority will be inspired and go on to greater things. Its always the way, the inspired are a minority, they move at their own pace, but they do move. They may make something good quickly, or they may take years (decades even) to perfect a craft and make something exceptional eventually. Don't knock those who are giving it a go. its way better than buying tins of cheap tasteless loopy juice from the supermarket. gets my thumbs up and as someone without the money or space to go AG at home i would find such a place very interesting!

does it matter?????, i mean if people like using kits, so be it, if they want to use extract, then let them, and if they want to go AG, then thats their decision, this is a brewing forum ain't it, sometimes i get the impression that AG has some sort of snobbery to it, in the end, not everyone has either the money, or infact the time to do AG, but are happy doing what they are making!!!

I dont understand extract brewing. I know that all malt beer kits ( 3kg ones ). taste great and are easy to do. the secret they must be all malt kits . simple! :party:
