We opened a 5 litre keg a couple of days ago, could i ask how long the beer will be drinkable, we are keeping it in a cool cupboard as it will not fit in the fridge.

It depends on quite a few factors, but I'd expect a week or so (by which point it'll be flat).
My take on this would be initially consume at a rate that suits you and then when it starts to deteriorate get stuck in!
However if its any help I use 2 litre PET bottles and usually only consume half the contents initially. Apart from some loss of carbonation the beer is not noticeably different on day three after opening if gets that far.

Thanks, i will tell him to finish it tonight, i dont think there is more than a couple of pints left, its a shame i didn't really like it or i could help him.
