Hi Glen, welcome to the craft, and great to see you eyeing-up the infinite potential of doing your own thing. Extract brewing is a great next-step without big investment. Look forward to hearing about your progress.

Thanks for the welcome, My Wife is also starting some brews, ofc the first must be a batch of WOW, then there is mincemeat wine so we can rack it for christmas, Fruit tea wine, Fiery ginger beer and some turbo cider. Our kitchen will soon be like a laboratory with that lot bubbling away.

Hi Glen,

Welcome! Yes - do a Stout! It's hard to BUY a good stout - so I tend to make them! FUn too!

Well, Thanks for the kind comments so far. I bottled the first brew on saturday and couldnt resist. I had to try my small 1 litre bottle i made up for testing after 4 days........ I'm well impressed. it was only the brewbuddy but a very nice pint. Now instead of extract im looking at brew in a bag, seems the best available from the least kit needed, but in the mean time i'm gonna do a coopers stout kit i think, i haven't read anybad reviews for them.
just got to get my head around the recipies :wha:

Anyway, Onwards and upwards.

Ps, the good lady has some WOW and some pomegranite wine in FV and i had to have a go at TC and some FGB.........can't wait :drunk:

I've started BIAB until my mash tun is complete, and I can't complain about it other than squeezing the wort out of the bag when the bag/wort is hot :|

I've decided to take my time with the MT and focus on getting my tap and such on my boiler instead. That and to get a chiller from BigYin :D
