I notice there are a lot of people using this lately.

Why is this option deemed necessary?

Who said that :?

People want to hide that they are online for a number of reasons (normally while they are at work ;) )

I usually look to see who and how many are on line.

Just never guessed there are so many shy people out there.

I was'nt having a go or anything like that, just curious. ;)

I think james's point was that if their status is hidden how do you know they're there? :hmm:

Thats because at the bottom there is a tally for how many users there are online, logged in, who have hidden.

When you scroll down to the bottom of the board, you will see something like:

In total there are 6 users online :: 5 registered, 1 hidden and 0 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)

Ahh, ok, I only ever see members and guests... I can't say I look that often... and... if you post... then everyone knows that you were online, and it's timestamped.

Ano's right. Normal members don't get to see the amount of hidden members.

And who would these "normal" members be? :hmm:

Don't worry, I just double checked in IE. I was talking rollocks. But I meant members without admin or moderator rights.
