My all time favorite is Hicks cornish ale from St. Austell. I live in Norway and theres no one here who import the beer. So i have to make it myself. Have tried a couple of brews but i cant get the perfect recipe. My latest try is this: For 25 liter:
5 kg maris otter
0,5 kg caramel/crystal 90
0,1 kg Black mutons

50 g Fuggles 60 min
29 g East Kent Goldings 15 min

I used US-05 yeast, but next time it would be som english ale yeast.
Do you have any ideas how this can be better?

It's not one I've tried to brew, but looking at their website you have the wrong bittering hop: they use Progress not Fuggles.

There's a clone recipe here

Most of my brewing is British ales and I can say from experience that they are really hard to get right. I notice this clone has quite a high IBU for an ale (46) but I think that maybe the secret: for a long time I have been brewing my ales to 30-35 IBU but have recently pushed them above 40 and they seem closer to the originals.

Good luck - I may have a go at this myself, I work in Cornwall occasionally and the hotel I stay in has this in the bar.

Cracking beer, surprised about the assumed IBU....this beer has always seemed quite malty/sweet to me
