Hi, Im Paul, My wife has bought me a beer making kit for my Birthday, Woodfords Wherry, Really looking forward to getting that brew on, its been interesting reading about temp control, I was going to go for the brew belt but on reflection the fish tank thermostat sounds like the best was to go as there is nowhere in the house that stays at a constant temp, :drink:

Hi Paul welcome to the forum. An aquarium heater sounds better as brewbelts can ferment a bit high if not thermostatically controlled. You will be better standing your fermenter in a water bath then heating the water with the aquarium heater and sitting your fermenting bucket in there :thumb:

Welcome Paul. Before you splash out try without unless you live in a fridge of a house. I ferment in my spare bedroom which seems to stay at a reasonable temp of about 20c give or take a degree or 2 and haven't had any problems.

Thanks Guys, I'll try it without a heater first as the room stays at around 20,
