Welcome to the forum :

I used to go to Leyland Home Brew and I would definitly recomend them, prices are good and the staff are very knowledgeble (They have been there a LONG time!). The only reason that I don't go there anymore is that there is a homebrew shop closer.

There's loads of advice on here to help you, if your not sure on anything just ask!

Re your new house - what you need to do is to mark your territory like a cat does.

I suggest a couple of ounces of really fresh, oily, sticky Northern Brewer hops, boiled in half a pint of water for half an hour then the resultant liquor poured into one of those plant sprayer atomiser things. All you have to do then is just go from room to room spraying the lovely hoppy essence on the walls and the door frames. People will soon get the message and leave that room to you and your brews. Something like 75% of the house for brewing is a relatively conservative start - you can always build up from that as your space requirements expand.

Hi Duncan,

Welcome to the forum, there's plenty of knowledge on here. I use Leyland Homebrew (Mostly over the internet) and would highly recommend them. If I ever have any questions when ordering stuff they are very helpful and offer good advice.

Seems a good as place as any to introduce myself as well I am in pretty much the same position I have done some reading around process etc. and my dad has made some home brews in the past which in all honesty were pretty awful - in my opinion anyway!

So I am on a mission to try and prove I can do a better job - looks like plenty of experience hints/tips on forum can draw off so step one - sourcing some half decent equipment !!

Disciple, get yourself onto freecycle, you can get loads for nothing. you really don't need much... to start with anyway :)
