Hi all just signed up to the forum, 21 years old from rowley regis area. sort of new to home brewing. Use to brew with my old man but moved Out about two years ago and haven't done any since. Looking forward to starting up again as soon as I get my equipment from the parents place. Got two local brewing shops to choose from I heard brew monkey in cradley Heath is good anyone been?

Looking for a good stout to start things of with

Welcome Along  Theres a couple from over your neck of the woods hopefully be along soon :thumb:

Welcome to the forum! I'm not too far away from you in Shrewsbury, what sort of brewing are you doing? If you're looking for a good stout kit I hear the Coopers Stout kits is good :thumb:

I'll be doing the kits for now, I have limited space at the moment, confined to a cupboard under the stairs its an ok size to start things of with though also got the shed. Most of the house is took up by the little uns toys. and the Missus crap, why she needs so much junk is beyond me (women thing?).P

Nope, looked at their website and didn't like the prices.

Welcome from a Wednesbury escapee

I kegged a Brewmaker Irish Velvet Stout with a 1.5kg can of cooper's dark malt extract and 500g of DME added and primed it with 100g of dark muscavado sugar just over 3 weeks ago.

It's tasting very good ,with a coffee coloured head and a slight coffee and treacle taste to it but need another month or so before starting to drink it in earnest.

Hello and welcome to the forum from Cradley Heath. Brew Monkey is good, I recently bought some liquid yeast he ordered specially, also bought a couple of wine kits. Blackheath market also useful for bits and bobs. If you are going AG then buy your hops vacuum packed and your malts freshly prepared, I use forum sponsors for these.
