Hi all, iv just bought my first ever homebrew kit (on the rocks apple cider), im not being lazy iv read through lots of threads and reviews with tweaks and I ended up more confused than when I started. Basicly how do I make this to its full potential?
Expecting pure poison because its new to me. I enjoy kepplers stella cider and bulmers as a guide. Is this even the right kit for me? Anyway any help is appreciated lol I'll most likely start it when I get some. :-)

Welcome to the forum.

I would suggest making it as per instructions, if you are not keen ask for kit suggestions here or try making a turbo cider, there are many threads about TC here in the forums.

Cheers chippy im guessing you're most likely right I should probably go with as per instructions first time out before trying tweaking. lol true story me mam tells me I walked before I crawled an iv not changed much. Ha im 41 now :-D

Yeh sound advice from chippy there

I've made a few of the on the rocks kits before and they're alright, pretty light on taste but see what you think!

Costing about the same is the turbo cider route, which is what I make now, beauty of that is you can make it a strong (or not) as you like and flavour as you like too... I made a cracking strawberry and Lime variety last and there's not much left 😃

Any advice I'd give to beginners is ensure you get the basics right ie the single most important thing to ensure is that everything is very clean and sterile

Wise words indeed, I kinda took that for granted !

Cleaning and sanitising etc easily takes up the majority of time the whole process from kit to glass !

Thanks for the replies carlos and roddy much appreciated. And yes I sterilised the bejasus out of everything. Hopefully something drinkable will appear at the end of it all

Update. All is I imagine it should be. its bubbling at a rate of knots. My only worries now at this stage as suggested are was it sterilised enough. fingers crossed

Well everything went well. Its all bottled up an all now. It was surprisingly tasty. I cant wait for it to develop some fizz. Only problem is I don't know the strength of it as I never took a reading at the start doh.
Im going to brew up a new batch the exact same and find out. Im also going to buy some bigger bins and try some turbo cider. Lol roll on the summer. Thanks again for all the advice its much appreciated.
