Is there a alternative that I can use for glycerine?

Why? Its available at HBS (expensive), supermarkets on the baking shelves and from chemists.

It adds mouth feel and a kind of sweetness, so backsweetening with Splenda or the like will do most of the job but many people find juice wines perfectly drinkable without adding any.

Yeah I found some in the end lol I didn't realise it was just cough syrup lol

 

It's best use is in the airlock on a particularly active ferment!
