Can anyone tell me if there a differance between a Hydrometer and a Sacchrometer?

I have one of them.. its colour coded. I toke my first reading last night 6 days into my first brew. it was just on the line between black and yellow (bottle it). Is this ok for the time scale?
my brew is a nice colour and smell great,it has a thick scum round the top of the tub.

Cause its my first brew not to sure what im doing yet.

I have a keg to put it into with the c02 injection, do i still put suger in the keg or is the co2 bulbs enough???

Please help

I think they are both the same thing. Does it have numbers on it? Did you take a reading at the beginning? If not, just do what it says & keg it. You should still prime it with sugar & leave it somewhere warm for a few days for secondary fermation. Use the C02 just to keep the pressure in the keg up when you're using it :thumb:

do you know how much sugar to use in a standard barrell, i got carbonated drops for the bottles can i use them or is sugar better? is it just pure white sugar?

Im new!!!!!!!!

sorry

Use about 2oz of sugar to prime the barrel.

1/2 a teaspoon of sugar per bottle, or just use one carbonation drop.

Thanks, seems to be a lot of info to take in.

or is it just me?

so do you just pure the sugar into the barrell before putting in the beer or what?

i feel like a should be blonde!

I've only been brewing a year & I still know nothing, the bit I do know I've picked up from this forum. Just keep reading :thumb:

Sorry to jump in here, noticed something I was going to ask as well :0

Sugar

I also have the plastic keg, the instructions on the beer pack says add 1/2 teaspoon per pint, no mention of 'some for the pot'

Is the extra needed or is that for a specific beer. I'm using Wherry as my beer.

Thanks

Also as I'd like to keep a decent brewing record, is there a weight per pint of sugar ?

Thanks
