This is just to check I've got the maths correct

I have 22 litres of beer ready to add magicol finings to

the data sheet states the rate should be 0.15% to 0.35% v/v

I want to work on 0.2% v/v

Using the suggested mixing rate of 3g per 500ml (magicol powder to water)

I have worked out the the quantity of the pre mixed solution I should add to 22 litres is 44ml

First time using magicol so am I about right with that quantity?

Many thanks

I have exactly the same query. I know this is an older post but how did it go ceborame? I don't want to mix up 500ml, so was just going to add .25g to 50ml of water and mix. If anyone out there has experience of magicol (dried isinglass) then it'd be appreciated.

There is instructions on a Murphy&sons pdf I shall try and find it for you.......

Here it is

I use 3g of isinglass and make up 500ml in a 1 litre kilner jar and leave it in my kegerator at 12C up to a week before I need it.

The dosage according to murphy's is 4 - 14ml per litre of beer, I work on 8ml per litre for a 19L corny keg, which works out at 152ml
