I use dribbly hose to water my veg. It slowly bungs up and fails.

Only this morning, replying to another thread, did I realise... I have water as hard as nails. It's limescale.

Question....
How can I descale it?
Can I install it differently, so it doesn't keep happening?

Vinegar may work. Soak it and it should come off

Oh, I thought you meant the head only.
Could you pump an acidic solution through the hose I wonder

Timescale build up is hard but fragile. Just flexing/squeezing the hose should cause any buildup to crack and crumble. You should then be able to flush it out by attaching to a tap at full power.

I am wondering if burying it would stop it building up. I think it is worse where the pipe dries.

you need holes to be bigger as you get further from the tap - and burying it might help.......

If you have space for it a water butt (or a few coupled up) fed from your guttering could be a source of soft water and gravity fed or pumped if necessary?

The limescale and slime inside. Seems to work well for the first season. Or strangely where is is always wet? That's a clue?
