Given that I've just whacked 3 posts into the 'general brewing discussion' forum I'd best introduce myself...

My name is Mr Snrub. Well, it isn't, but if you watched the Simpsons you might at least know where that comes from!

I started extract brewing in January, and am currently following recipes from 'Extreme Brewing' by Sam Calagione (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1938469356/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20) with great results so far.

I brew once a month with a friend, we have a grand old time and so far are thoroughly enjoying the outputs. We do 2-3 5 gallon batches each brew day, bottle the winnings and share far and wide with friends.

We're keen to try all-grain before long, but are a little apprehensive about laying out on the cost for the equipment.

Any advice and suggestions welcome!

Welcome to the forum.
Seems to me with a couple of you enjoying the hobby, may be able to fork out the dosh for AG brewing!
You’ll never go back to ‘kit’ form..
Tiny steps n all that..
Hope you like the results so far, plenty to learn n try...

I also have Sam's book but have yet to brew from but certainly an interesting read about his journey into brewing never mind some of his recipes which I will get round to some time.:beer1:

I heartily recommend trying the Imperial IPA first. So good I brewed it twice, then did a variation which added Oranges at the end (nicked the technique from the Orange Hefeweizen recipe). Planning to taste that on Friday while brewing a 3rd batch of the IPA!
