Hi everyone  , just saying hello for the first time. I brewed my first kit a Coopers bitter kit on Christmas day and it turned out ok but it is definately improving as it is getting older :drink: . Coopers said that a week would be enough for conditioning and yes it is conditioned but I read that 3 weeks was more normal so I`ve brought it back into the warmth to see if it makes a difference. I`ve also made a Coopers stout kit :thumb: , which is definately less carbonated than the bitter so I`ve brought that back into the warmth for a while, good taste and I think I`ll stick with the stout for future kits.
My wife was not impressed when the syphon tube detached from the little bottler tube and allowed some stout to flow like a stream across the kitchen floor whilst I was bottling.
All the best

hello.

1 week is enough to get carbonation done in the warm but your beer will taste better in 3 weeks from cold conditioning. No need to bring back in the warm, keep it cool from now on :thumb:

Thanks for the welcome and information, I`ll try to be more patient and leave it alone for a while.

I have to ask... was it a christmas present?

So was she ok when you sneaked away from the celebrations on christmas day and started brewing? :D

Sounds like you'll fit right in here perfectly!

Nice to meet you

Hi Tony, yes it was a Christmas presant from my wife but I did wait until everyone had gone home before starting to brew, although I did get a dirty look :x when I took over her kitchen ! and it took longer than I expected because it was
-10 outside and the tap water was next to freezing.
She was not impressed either when I used the Christmas tree lights to provide the heating for the carbonation especially as they were too long and three quarters of them were draped on the freezer :nono: Thats when I got an extra presant of a thermostat  to regulate my brewbelt.
Now she has to help me to take the bottles back to the shed but as I told her she wo`nt have to carry any beer home from Morrisons for me anymore, always look on the bright side of life, di dum di dum
 thanks for the welcome

Thanks, ye and I`ve emphasised to her that it works out at only 35p a pint so she is well pleased. k
