Hello everybody,

I'd just like to introduce myself...I am extremely new to brewing beer but fairly experienced drinking it!

I started my 1st brew on Sunday (Woodforde's Werry two can kit) and everything seems to be going to plan so far, although I do have a couple of questions.

Thanks for reading.

Henry

Thanks for the replies

Basically my main question is about when the primary fermentation I'd done.

I'm slightly confused because of the different lengths of time in various instructions...

On the side of the Werry kit box it says 4 - 6 days.
On the leaflet I got with the starter kit, it says 5 - 10 days.

I understand that I'm looking for 10.14 so assume it can vary in time, but I've read some some threads that once I've achieved it I can leave it longer in the FV. Will it stay at 10.14 or keep lowering?

Sorry if this is already on the forum!

Henry

Welcome to the forum

Once the yeast has finished munching on all the sugar in your brew it's finished fermenting. You will need a consistent hydrometer reading over 2-3 days, at or below 1014. Having said that, I would ignore the kit instructions (always somewhat optimistic) and leave it in your fv for 10-14 days. This will give the yeast time to clean up after itself :thumb:

Hi bruv

I should have guessed you'd be MrStan!!

Now, don't be cramping my style!

Well it's sat at about 10.12/10.10 for the day or so.

Going to bottle up tomorrow and then start the next one!
