I spot I'm not the first ;)

I started brewing kits on and off about 5 years ago and a couple of years ago really got into homemade wines (the dandelion, elderflower and Darjeeling tea were all successes, the banana, strawberry, nettle, orange and "tropical" ones not so much). A couple more on the list to try in the coming months are a gooseberry wine and a mead, neither of which I've tried before.

I'm wanting to get back into beer again though so have started a Milestone Crusader kit to help me on my way (anyone have any good suggestions for other kits?). My intent is to get into extract brewing and then eventually onto all-grain brewing but I need to prepare myself a bit more before then, in terms of both beer skills and finances haha.

Well, that's me and I'll no doubt be pestering you with questions as the adventure continues!

My first kit was Woodforde's Wherry. It made me decide that I wanted to carry on brewing!

I've wanted to try kits made by my LHBS, but after taking a small step towards the dark side and proceeding with extract brewing, I've never looked back to kits. Maybe you could try your LHBS's kit(s)?

Cheers guys!

There's only really one shop (that I know of) that sells home brew stuff and it's a small health food shop with a relatively small selection. Although the guy who runs it is pretty helpful with brewing questions it's not a dedicated home brew shop.

I'm really just finding my feet again with the kits and doubt I'll stay on them for very long, but they're a handy (and delicious) way of getting back into the swing of things.

Welcome to the forum.

Just take your time and get used to the basics (cleanliness and patience are the two main ones). You will find that your questions are usunally answered fairly quickly so ask away. :thumb:

Welcome to the forum

Once you do start to look into AG brewing, it doesn't have to cost as much as you might think - I reckon my total build costs won't be too much over the £100 mark for a full setup (not including a few tool costs - but you may already have them or be able to beg or borrow).

I've done a few kits, and have a few more to get done to clear the decks for the inaugural AG brew - I'm a big fan of the 'two can' kits - they do produce very nice beer :drink: :drink:

Good luck with whatever route you choose :drink: :drink: :drink:
