Hello folks, :)

I'm a newbie homebrewer from norfolk and really looking forward to getting into the homebrew scene... discovering new drinks, learning techniques, adding my own tweeks to recipes and of course sampling the results! :drunk:

I've got a gallon of ginger beer on the go as my first attempt at brewing (saw the recepie and thought that can't be too hard :hmm: )

eventually want to be making my own ales and wines, so any hints and tips will be greatly recieved

Is there a particular ale brew that anyone can recomend for a novice to start out on?

Sam

Hey kelsam welcome to the forum. Coopers real ale is quite good I have personally made it twice with 500g of brewing sugar and 500g of medium spray malt and it turned out rather nice.

Thanks for the replies guys,

went for a woodfords werry for my first brew, will start it on monday when have some free time to get things going.

a further question.... i have come into possesion of a pressure keg to store the fermented ale in, but how long will it last once ive started have a wee drop :wha:

Am i better off getting some bottles and opening them individually or do i have to drink the keg all in one go once opened?

Sam

Your beer should keep for months in a keg. Also, the stronger it is the longer it will last. I do however like the idea of trying to drink a whole keg in one go. :D Please post pictures if you try. ;)

welcome,
You have a couple good shops in your area, I can recommend The one in Gorlstone.
The Werry needs to sit for a good 2 weeks in the Keg from my Experience
