Hi Guys,
Im new to the forum and a general homebrew newbie.
I've done a couple of kit and kilos and a couple of thankfully better extracts, with help and knowledge I have leached off this forum. I am thinking of going AG when i can sort a mash tun, and thought it was time to say hello.
All the best,
Craig

Welcome to the forum
I use a old FV as a mash tun all iver done is drilled a hole fitted a ball valve tao and insulated it with a hot water tank jacket it only drops 1 maybe 2 degrees over 90 min :thumb:

Cheers chaps,
I must say i was looking at a FV some people seem to feel that the round shape helps. Horses for courses etc ... but i already own some with taps and figured if i could make some sort of false bottom as per Daab's design i would be sorted. Save me buying a cool box as well.
I was given loads of that silver foil bubble wrap by a mate and i figured i would use that instead of buying ahot water jacket. I have enough to go round afew times and build up the thickness. Anyone had experience of that on a MT?
Well I reckon i will give it a go anyway.

BTW - Bottled my last extract yesterday evening. Looking good... although it was the first time i bottled and hadn't kegged so i will see how that turns out soon enough!

DarrenWest asked where in essex im from and the answer is to that fella is Grays. So not that far from yourself. I was wondering is there such a thing as an Essex home brew circle?
Well Cheers lads and I look forward to better brews thanks to the HBF! :thumb:

Thanks, I have a few days off coming up so i may well pop along for a nose! Better leave my wallet at home... just like going to the pub with mates! :D
